Great Design, Wasted: The Forbidden Elevator at Ágora in Bogotá

Speaking of intentional design, and then design completely wasted. How on earth do you build the Ágora (an incredible project), connect it to Corferias through a tunnel-bridge (brilliant idea)… and then not let anyone use it? 😡

I went to GoFest on Wednesday and Friday (fantastic event). Yesterday had lunch with the Educación Estrella® team (super inspiring, thanks Luis Cedeño Hernández , Wei-maa Hung, Santiago Garcés Marulanda for the conversation and the meal).

It’s raining. There’s a tunnel-bridge. I head straight to the parking garage. The tunnel HAS AN ELEVATOR THAT GOES TO THE PARKING GARAGE. I walk through the tunnel, reach the elevator, and a security guard (very politely) tells me I can’t use it. And I can’t use the tunnel either, please turn around (and go get soaked crossing the street).

Here’s a photo of the off-limits elevator.
