Camaraderie Mindset 🆚 Competitive Mindset

In Feel-Good Productivity, Ali Abdaal talks about how feeling part of a team (or reading between the lines, a community) can supercharge our productivity.
And part of the benefit comes from something primal and deeply human — feeling like we’re “working together” takes us further than “working in parallel.”
Literally, we feel more motivated to DO things when we don’t feel alone on the journey.
Even if everyone on a team or community has different goals, giving and receiving help — the support — shifts us from competitors to teammates.
And if we’re teammates, we all go further.
Instead of trying to sink the competition, think about how the whole industry can move forward together. Instead of undermining a team member, look for shared wins.
I think a mix is best rather than going to either extreme… but a mix that’s 70% camaraderie, 30% competitive.
Which do you prefer?
