Culture eats strategy for breakfast 🥞. Building a team (with good culture) is brutally hard.
This week we made our first hire at Ignia — and it’s genuinely scary.
- What culture do we want to create? Right now with my co-founder you can “feel” the culture — but we haven’t written it down.
- How do you communicate it? Writing it down isn’t enough — you have to demonstrate it.
- How do you sustain it? Culture needs “reminders” — specific actions and rituals that keep it feeling alive.
I’m no expert, but I know how important it is. Pablo Armida, Fernando Sucre, and Ricardo Buitrago taught me this firsthand at R5.
Honest question: what do you think are the best ways to build culture in early-stage teams?
