Culture eats strategy for breakfast 🥞. Building a team (with good culture) is brutally hard.

This week we made our first hire at Ignia — and it’s genuinely scary.

  1. What culture do we want to create? Right now with my co-founder you can “feel” the culture — but we haven’t written it down.
  2. How do you communicate it? Writing it down isn’t enough — you have to demonstrate it.
  3. How do you sustain it? Culture needs “reminders” — specific actions and rituals that keep it feeling alive.

I’m no expert, but I know how important it is. Pablo Armida, Fernando Sucre, and Ricardo Buitrago taught me this firsthand at R5.
