We need to say no more often. The best method I’ve seen: Hell Yeah 🤩 or No ❌
I saw a post from Felipe Novoa about how so many entrepreneurs struggle to focus and stick with one thing — we love starting new stuff.
It happens to me constantly — I want to be everywhere. Yes to every project, every speaking invitation. I’ll figure out where to find the time later.
Last year, Mauricio Salazar Velez very respectfully told me I’d moved past the “trying to do everything” phase.
I get it now, Mauricio — you have to be really intentional about where you invest your time.
And that means saying no to most things that come your way — like 99% of them. Easier said than done.
▶️ The tactic: if something is a “Hell Yeah 🔥” (meaning UNMISSABLE, AMAZING, SPECTACULAR), say yes.
Everything else? Say no.
I found it in Feel-Good Productivity, but the original credit apparently goes to Derek Sivers, who I randomly crossed paths with about a year ago.
It makes complete sense to me. If something doesn’t feel incredible, it’s probably pulling me away from what matters most.
Starting to apply this year — let’s see if I feel less overwhelmed, if I can keep fewer balls from dropping each week.
What do you think? What other tactics do you use to “protect” your time?
