🚀 I’m starting a new venture 🚀 Details below ⬇️
A couple of months ago I wrapped up my time at R5. Two years… I met an incredible team, learned what it means to build at truly massive scale (we had to fix a backend that crashed every time we sent a notification 😅 because of the sheer number of users), grew enormously on the technical side, and got a masterclass in organizational culture. It was incredible.
A huge thank you to Fernando Sucre for the opportunity, and to the whole team for the experiences and learnings. Especially my partners-in-crime Alex Swift and Ricardo Buitrago, to Katherin Sanchez for the good vibes and the nudges, to Pablo Armida for the nudges squared (and the great conversations), to Jesus R. for so much in common across so many differences, to Alejandro Castellanos, Henry Jaimes, Wilmar Sepulveda Herrera, Lader Cantillo Meza, and Rafael Sanabria for teaching me every day how to be better (and for putting up with me), and to everyone at the company for that awesome culture and attitude that made it a genuine pleasure to wake up and solve problems.
Now I’m going to take on the world of Higher Education 🎓. What would higher education look like if we designed it from scratch? If we rethought methodology, timelines, spaces, and everything else — not based on “how it’s done” but on “how it should be done” given today’s world and what the science says? It will also be my first experience in Social Entrepreneurship 💙 How exciting to think about becoming a B Corp.
I’ve spent the last several months talking with experts (more than 50!)… and I hope to materialize that dream soon 🚀 Thank you to everyone who has given me their time, ears, energy, and ideas to co-build this.
PS: I’ll share a write-up with the concrete idea in the coming days! I want to be very transparent about the creation process… so that someday others might join this adventure.
PS2: If this topic interests you and you have ideas, reach out. I’d love to chat.
