The 3 'Hard' Skills That Actually Matter Today

I’m betting on 3 “hard” skills that are truly important right now:

  1. Design Thinking — You have to understand users and ecosystems before you start building.

  2. Agile Business — The startup mindset applies to everything, not just tech. Test fast, iterate fast, discard fast.

  3. Technology — Every field benefits from automating processes and leveraging modern tech (AI, yes, but there’s so much more).

And on the soft skills side, I’d add adaptive leadership + a growth mindset.

I believe that combo makes a winning professional in any field — corporate, entrepreneurship, research and academia… whatever you’re doing.
